Patrick Small Keir was a well respected Gentleman who contributed greatly to the Strathardle community. In gratitude his friends and neighbours presented him with a large silver jug and salver with the following inscription,
“Presented to Patrick Small Keir Esq.,by his Friends and Neighbours in Strathardle and the vicinity, as a mark of their respect for his character as a Magistrate and Country Gentleman, and of estimation of his unwearied exertion for the improvement of the district in which he resides.”
The presentation took place on the lawns of Kindrogan with 200 people there.
