Willie Heath was a great local character and well remembered. He came to Kirkmichael in the 1950s to work with Willie Dolby doing hill drainage and lodged with Jean Wallace in Riverdale. Willie stayed on in the village until his death in in the early 2000s latterly staying in Sillerburn Road. At the time of the photograph he drove the school car for Jock and Jean Blair.

The man leaning against the wall is Willie Heath, a local man. I remember the place well. My father is Tony Reid, whom you have interviewed.
