I donated many images to the Session House in Kirkmichael and this is just one of them. The location may be Glen Isla (?).
The gent on the right is my Great-Grandfather Alexander Petrie – he was born in 1853 at Muirton of Ardblair but his father and fore-fathers were Strathardle Petries.
At the time this photograph was taken (c1930) he was living in Balmoral Road, Rattray. He stands with one of his son-in-laws, Andrew Page. Andrew Page was, at one time, a police officer at Kirkmichael.
