  • Hi William,
If you have a good photo of “Dounie” (maybe Croft of Dounie?) from 1936 it would be great if you could post in on this site.

  • I am most impressed with your site. My great grandfather was born at Croft of Dounie in 1842, his grandfather was John McNab who farmed Pitcarmick (and Soilrie) for over 40 years. The Grays came down from Moulin in the early 1800s. I have a good photo of Dounie (1936) and we have their long case clock from 1792 and a couple of our unmarried McNabs silver pocket watches from the 1820s. They are in the Kirk Yard, together with Angus Gray and his wife Margaret McNab.
