Physical Contributions & Oral History

What you need to know

Contributing Physical Items

We are a digital archive, which means that we make copies of the original material that is handed to us and give it back once it is processed.

Oral History

Without a doubt, one of the most interesting aspects of the project is the oral history element. We are always looking for people who want to talk to us about their memories and who are willing to share it via our archive.

Think you might like to take part?

People are often nervous about taking with a stranger about their lives. Other times, people doubt that they have anything interesting to share. It is perfectly understandable that you may be nervous about being interviewed, but we do everything we can to make you comfortable throughout. For example, all of our previous interviews have taken place at the home of the interviewee. Have a listen to the sound recordings of previous oral histories and then contact us if interested.

And trust us – it may not always feel like it, but you do have something interesting to say!
