This is an interview with Dawn Baines,  it tells of her life in Canada and meeting a handsome RAF Pilot Tony Baines who whisked her off her feet, married her and brought her to Britain.  Tony was a Hydro Engineer they moved around Britain and finally ended up in Kirkmichael. A lovely story. Dawn passed away in October 2023 a lovely lady missed by all.

  • Such a lovely photo of a lovely lady. She and my Mum met in England just after WWII and became great friends. My introduction to Dawn was a yearly Christmas parcel from Scotland containing a few sprigs of heather. Seventy years later, I can still smell them. My husband and I went to meet Dawn over 10 years ago; what a delight! I have phoned her every year at Christmas time since that visit. I shall miss hearing her voice but now I can listen to her Oral History. Thank you! Erie Long, Ontario, Canada.
